Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc is a highly reputable teacher and executive in the public educational system in Ho Chi Minh city. She was the former Head of School of Gia Dinh High School (Binh Thanh district), conferred with the title of the Merited Teacher and a former member of the 12th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

With more than 30 years in education, Ms Thu Cuc is not only a proficient teacher keen on teaching but also an executive with a strategic mindset and vision. She, together with her partners and other teachers, successfully developed a distinctive model of whole-person education, which resulted in building an admired brand which earned the trust of parents in Ho Chi Minh city.

A school, to her, should be a place of discovery that helps students build confidence in identifying and exploiting all of their capabilities, both in academic studies and in other aspects e.g. artistic or sporting etc. A school should be a learning environment offering safety, reliability, friendliness and should encourage all students to proactively search for knowledge and express their personal views. Such a school should create the hunger for lifelong learning in all students. School is also a place for equipping students with morality and soft skills that will help them to become useful citizens in the globalized world.

Ms Thu Cuc received the Vo Truong Toan Award, an award dedicated for educational executives with excellence and devotion, in acknowledgement of her contribution to society.
