EMASI Summer School Diary – Week 5
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Week 5 summer school update. These are some of the things the students have been working on:
- One of the most inspiring lessons in the summer school is STEAM application. This week, the students were excited to discover and also made better progress than last week in implementing scientific products. They learnt more about astronauts’ “home” in Mars (which is also known as the Bio-Dome), space food and types of food which astronauts eat. They then spent time packing space food; designing and making the Bio-Dome.
- In Kindergarten, this week the children learned about the different feelings and emotions, and tried starting to express themselves in English. They also had a lot of fun learning how to mix colors. The children were able to observe different kinds of zoo animals such as giraffes, hippopotamus, bear, tigers, lions, pelicans, monkeys, and hedgehogs, however clearly the children enjoyed the most when they saw the elephants.
- In English lessons, every class has been working hard to apply their new knowledge in meaningful ways for the end of course. Some classes have worked on a theme as a class, some have decided to work in small groups. Both Elementary and Secondary students have been working hard on a class project that they will present to parents on graduation.
- And lastly, we will have an End of Summer Course celebration next Friday, July 19 afternoon. We look forward to receiving all parents to our school to showcase some of the work you children have done. We will be sending a detailed agenda in an invitation letter shortly
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Lila Rodriguez
